ACCESS FOR THE |

Although our properties were not specifically designed for use by people with a disability, over the years we have had many guests who have stayed with us with some level of disability. In particular the width of some of the doors does not allow wheelchair access to all the rooms in the Gîtes and the size and layout of the toilet and shower rooms limits wheelchair access. For guests with limited mobility all the two and three bedroom Standard Gîtes along with Hortensia and Dahlia (two bedroom Deluxe) have a bedroom on the ground floor. These Gîtes all have double French door access to both the living rooms and the downstairs bedroom. There is one small step into the property and a small ramp can be put in place to help access. The distance between the living room/bedroom and the toilet is around two metres. The door into the toilet is 59cm wide, the door into the shower room is 69cm wide and the doors into the corridor leading to the shower room and toilets are 69 cm wide. There is parking immediately outside all of these properties. The site is on a gentle slope so there are a number of different levels. There is access to all the facilities without the need to use any steps. In the centre of the site there are pathways on compacted gravel and the main access road around the site is tarmaced. There is a ramp leading down to the swimming pool and the pool has a set of roman steps leading into the shallow end. |
