Les Gîtes de Carlux, situated 2km from the Dordogne river and 15km from Sarlat and Souillac provides an ideal base to enjoy one of France's most beautiful regions.  Within 40 minutes drive you will find many of the Dordgone and Lot's principal sites including Rocamadour, Les Eyzies, Domme, Beynac and Lascaux.

The network of rivers centred on the Dordogne and the Vézère ensure that the region remains lush and green throughout the year.  The region boasts some of the finest cuisine in France.  It is one of the major production centres for walnuts and soft fruits and its forests supply a fine range of mushrooms and truffles.  It is also renowned, by locals and visitors alike, as the home of foie gras.  With such fine cuisine and with the vineyards of Bordeaux, Bergerac and Cahors within close proximity, it makes for a perfect holiday destination.
